Manufacturers, sellers, and preparers of food products have an obligation to make sure that the products that they sell are clean, unspoiled, and fit for human consumption. These include food manufacturers, retailers, restraints, and any other food preparers. However, each year, thousands of American are injured when they buy food products which are unsafe, causing serious injuries. Reasons that food products might be unsafe include:
The food has been sold past its expiration date or after it has begun to spoil;
Improper sanitation techniques in the preparation of the food or its storage;
Food that contains foreign objects;
Food that has been improperly prepared, such as being undercooked or not in accordance with special food allergy precautions;
